I went to a Baptist church baptism for a friend of my family yesterday. They were adult baptisms, and it was truly a group of lovely people, who really opened their hearts to the entire church yesterday (including a fit guy who was not afraid to cry. *melts*). It honestly left me really humbled.

If you fall in love with a book or movie, do you tend to watch/read it again and again? If so, what's your upper limit on repeats?

Wow. Oh wow. None. No limits, whatsoever. I don't think I know anyone who can re-watch or re-read something as many times as me and not get bored. And it's a habit I've had since childhood-it completely baffled my mother. I used to have TV and a video player (VCR) in my room and I'd watch a Disney film, rewind it, watch it again, rewind it...and then when I was done I'd fast forward to the songs, rewind them, watch them again, rewind them...you get the point. And even after years of reading them, I could still tell you the plot and characters of all my favourite childhood books.

It's a very odd talent. But then, I'm a very odd person. So I'm OK with that. :)

'Amased'? Are you kidding me?

Some chick on fanfiction.net misspelt the word 'amazed' as 'amased'. And when I corrected her on it, she tried to tell me that she was 'British English' and that it was an acceptable variation of the word. Which might not have been quite so insulting, IF I WASN'T BOTH BRITISH AND ENGLISH MYSELF!

I can't believe she tried to pull that one on me. Me! The spellmeister! (No one actually calls me that, but I'm making an indignant point!)

What is the best book you've read this year, and why?

Well, since my reading has pitiously been put on hold since I started university, and I only really started again a few weeks ago, it has to be the Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins (the first one in the trilogy, not the whole thing). I literally could not put the book down, especially once the games started, and it's given me a lot to think about.

More importantly though, it's given me back my love of reading. I can't wait to get back into the world of fiction, truly one of my happiest places on earth.

OK, I was just listening to that electronic/Stephen Hawking voice read out Midnight Sun to me...BEST. THING. EVER!!!

It brings out an entirely new appreciation for the word 'dazzle' when it's said like that! Everyone in the world should open up the draft of Midnight Sun, go to page 182 (where the word 'dazzle' is used about a billion times), and sit back and enjoy the magic! Plus, as an added bonus, the electronic voice actually puts more life into the text than Stephenie Meyer ever could. I can't believe I didn't know about this before! What else can I listen to?

Ahhh, Breaking Dawn. Cracktastic Breaking Dawn. The book that broke even the most devoted of Twihards. I don't know what Stephenie Meyer was thinking when she wrote this, or what her editors were thinking when they read it, but this book is so awful...it honestly should never have been published. It's literally not even a novel; it's a piece of really loooooong fanfiction. Really long, really bad fanfiction. But we're going into this looking at the character of the lovely Bella Swan, and the culmination of her journey in Twilight. *deep breath* Here we go!

Sorry this took so long. You see, a few days ago, I started reading Mark Reads Harry Potter, and it reminded me of the pure brilliance of Harry Potter. Which is why I was loathe to delve back into the pure fuckery that is Twilight. *sigh* But, I started this thing, so I'm gonna finish it. I have too many opinions about these books to keep them inside.Anyway, I had the sudden urge to outline all the reasons that I think that Edward and Bella's entire relationship should go straight to the fiery pits of hell. And here it is! Enjoy!

OK, here we go. This post is going to focus, primarily, on Bella Swan as she is portrayed in Eclipse! *shudder* No, I can do this. Let me just take a sip of this drink here...ahhhh, yes I am prepared!

I had no idea I had so much to rage about...Collapse )
